September through May, ASFC holds Chapter Meetings on the fourth
Tuesday of each month featuring fascinating guest and member speakers
and programs. Since September 2009, we have met in the Visitor
Center at Historic Bethabara Park on Bethabara Road. Social half-hour
begins at 7:00 p.m. and the business meeting/program begins at 7:30
p.m. Everyone is welcome, so please, come join us!

Speaker: Jim Carpenter
According to the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, N.C.: "Jim Carpenter is an experienced carver who specializes in carving songbirds, raptors, and smoothie shorebirds. He has won many awards for his work, including “Best of Show” awards at the East Carolina Wildfowl Arts Festival and the Ohio Decoy Carving & Collecting Show. He also won Best of Intermediate Miniatures Division at the 1996 Ward Foundation World Championships. Jim teaches bird carving at the Sawtooth Center for Visual Art in Winston Salem, NC and is a member of Piedmont Craftsmen Guild." Learn more about Jim and his work.
