The Big Sit
The Big Sit!, affectionately known as "Birding's Most Sedentary Event," takes place nationwide on Sunday, October 11th. The event is similar to a Big Day in that the object is to tally the maximum number of species possible in a 24-hour period - the difference is that all counting is done from within a 17-foot circle!

The Sitting Ducks (ASFC's Team) will be setting up the ASFC circle in a new location this year at Reynolda Gardens in the lower parking area near the boat house.

Please be aware that restrooms near the greenhouses are closed on weekends. However, there will be restrooms available near Mayberry's on Sunday.

Be sure to bring your binoculars, a folding chair, something to drink, a hat, sunscreen and maybe bug repellant. Spotting scope and field guides are optional.

Sign up for one of the shifts: 8 am - 11 am; 11 am- 2 pm; 2 pm - 5 pm. Contact Susan Jones at sljones@triad.rr.com or 768-9151.
