The
Big Sit
The Big Sit! is coming up fast and it's time to sign up and
be a part of the fun! The Big Sit!, affectionately known as
"Birding's Most Sedentary Event," takes place nationwide on
Sunday, October 14th. The event is similar to a Big Day in that
the object is to tally the maximum number of species possible
in a 24-hour period - the difference is that all counting is
done from within a 17-foot circle! As we've done the last few
years, our circle will be in Tanglewood Park, on a handy steel
platform next to several choice environments including a wetlands,
forest, and power lines in the distance.
