Stop by Foothills for Birds and Beer, 638 Fourth St., beginning at 5:30 p.m. Just bird talk, no binoculars necessary. Dinner optional. Twenty-one people attended our first gathering in October.

Topic: "Atlantic Flyway: Birds from North Carolina to Nicaragua and Beyond"

Guest Speaker: Curtis Smalling, N.C. Important Bird Area Coordinator, Audubon North Carolina

One of our most popular presenters is back to discuss the connection of bird habitats all along the Atlantic Flyway. Curtis monitors the Golden-winged Warbler and other songbirds on their summer grounds near the New River and at their winter retreats in Nicaragua. Refreshments at 7:00 p.m., program at 7:30.
